What makes your eggs different from conventional eggs? +
Our eggs come from chickens raised with higher welfare standards including outdoor access for free-range birds, spacious housing, natural light, and enriched environments that allow birds to express natural behaviors. We prioritize animal health and comfort through comprehensive veterinary care, balanced nutrition, and professional management. These practices contribute to producing quality eggs while maintaining ethical farming standards. Our operations comply with EU regulations and are regularly audited for animal welfare and food safety compliance.
How do you ensure animal welfare on your farm? +
We implement comprehensive welfare programs based on the Five Freedoms principle. This includes regular veterinary oversight, appropriate housing with adequate space and environmental enrichments, balanced nutrition formulated for bird health, daily welfare monitoring by trained staff, and protocols that minimize stress. Our facilities provide perches, dust bathing areas, nesting boxes, and outdoor access for free-range birds. We maintain detailed health records, participate in welfare certification programs, and undergo regular third-party audits to ensure accountability.
What do you feed your chickens? +
Our chickens receive scientifically formulated feed appropriate for their life stage and production status. The diet includes balanced proteins from plant sources like soybean meal, energy from grains such as corn and wheat, vitamins, minerals, and essential amino acids. Feed quality is regularly tested to ensure nutritional adequacy. For organic production, we use 100% organic feed free from synthetic pesticides and GMOs. We do not use routine antibiotics in feed, and any medical treatments are prescribed by veterinarians only when necessary for bird health.
Do your chickens have access to outdoor areas? +
Our free-range and organic chickens have daytime access to outdoor areas where they can forage, dust bathe, and exhibit natural behaviors. Outdoor ranges are managed to provide vegetation, shelter, and protection from predators. Access is weather-dependent to ensure bird safety and comfort. Barn-raised chickens live indoors with spacious housing, perches, and enrichments but do not have outdoor access. We clearly label our products to indicate the production system so consumers can make informed choices based on their preferences.
How often are eggs collected? +
Eggs are collected multiple times daily to maintain freshness and reduce the risk of damage or contamination. Our collection system combines automated equipment with manual inspection to ensure quality. After collection, eggs undergo candling to check for internal defects, are washed if necessary following approved protocols, graded by size and quality, and stored in temperature-controlled environments. This process ensures that only high-quality eggs reach consumers and that product safety is maintained throughout handling.
What happens to chickens when they stop laying eggs? +
When hens reach the end of their productive laying cycle, typically after 12-18 months of egg production, they become spent hens. These birds are humanely transported to certified processing facilities where they are used for meat products appropriate for mature chicken. This practice ensures complete utilization of farm resources and contributes to sustainability by avoiding waste. All transport and processing procedures comply with animal welfare regulations and are conducted by licensed facilities with proper oversight.
How do you prevent disease on your farm? +
Disease prevention relies on comprehensive biosecurity measures including controlled farm access, sanitation stations for personnel and equipment, quarantine protocols for new birds, pest control programs, and regular environmental monitoring. Our chickens receive vaccination programs designed by veterinary professionals to protect against common poultry diseases. We maintain strict hygiene standards, monitor flock health daily, and have emergency response protocols for potential disease situations. Staff receive ongoing training in disease recognition and prevention practices.
Are your eggs organic? +
We produce both organic and conventional eggs. Our organic eggs are certified according to EU organic standards, which require 100% organic feed, outdoor access to organic pastures, prohibition of routine antibiotics and synthetic pesticides, and adherence to strict animal welfare requirements. Organic production is verified through regular inspections by authorized certification bodies. Products are clearly labeled to indicate production method. Consumers seeking organic products can identify them through certification labels on packaging.
What sustainability practices does your farm implement? +
Our sustainability efforts include composting poultry manure for use as organic fertilizer, water conservation through efficient systems and recycling, renewable energy integration to reduce fossil fuel dependence, waste reduction and recycling programs, and efficient feed conversion to minimize resource use. We monitor our environmental footprint, participate in sustainability certification programs, and continuously seek improvements. Local sourcing of feed ingredients when possible reduces transportation impacts, and our organic fertilizer production closes nutrient loops with neighboring agricultural operations.
Can visitors tour your farm? +
We occasionally offer educational farm visits for schools, agricultural students, and industry professionals interested in learning about poultry farming practices. However, visits are limited and require advance scheduling to maintain biosecurity protocols that protect flock health. All visitors must follow strict biosecurity procedures including designated clothing, footwear disinfection, and restricted access to certain areas. We believe in transparency and education but must balance this with the primary responsibility of protecting animal health and welfare.
How do you ensure egg freshness? +
Egg freshness is maintained through rapid collection after laying, immediate temperature control to slow natural quality decline, proper storage conditions with consistent humidity and temperature, and efficient distribution to minimize time between production and consumption. All eggs are clearly marked with production dates and best-before dates. Our traceability systems allow us to track each batch from laying through packaging. We work with distributors who maintain cold chain integrity during transport and storage.
What certifications does your farm hold? +
Fresh Chicken Farm complies with all Polish and European Union regulations for poultry production and food safety. We hold certifications for organic production for our organic egg line, participate in animal welfare assurance schemes, and undergo regular inspections by government veterinary services and food safety authorities. Our facility registration number is 49765745. We maintain documentation of all certifications and make this information available to consumers, regulators, and business partners as appropriate.
